Server Setup Warning - Windows XP and Server 2003 A Warning message now appears in the EXACT Server Setup Wizard, and you will need to tick a checkbox to continue the installation. Background: In April 2014 Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP and Server 2003. From July 2017 Software of Excellence no longer supports EXACT and X-Ray machines running on these platforms. Please refer to your IT services and/or the Support Desk for further guidance.

Offline Help is an optional download from EXACT v12.8 Historically the Offline Help was included within each EXACT software upgrade. However, there are now reasons to make the Offline Help an optional download:
Consequently, from EXACT v12.8 onwards, if you wish to use Offline Help, please refer to the Support Desk, who will guide you through the procedure. This applies from EXACT v12.8 onwards.

Online Booking Locations A dental business with a single server and multiple practice locations (premises) can optionally create a separate online booking website for each configured location. For online booking purposes EXACT then considers each Location as a separate practice. This functionality affects Practitioner Login, Provider setup, Patient setup, and patient bookings. Each patient can be configured with a Preferred Location, or can otherwise use the Default Location.

Include Prices is an OPTION in the Patient Details Report The Print Patient Details dialog has a checkbox option to This is a sub-option underneath Scenario for not printing prices: The practice is moving areas/Dentists, the treatment history is required, but the estranged Dentist does not want to show the price of services.

Email Service Enhancements From v12.8 the Email service installs and runs automatically only on the practice server (no longer on workstations). To this end, the following applies:

Print Statement Run update Practices use the Statement Run to print statements for all patients who owe money as at a particular date (usually the current date). Part of the print setup is to exclude patients who meet certain criteria. A new exclusion criterion has been added: Invoices Emailed within ___ Days

Create Block Rota - validation on the "Length" field In the Create Block Rota window, warning notifications now guard against users entering a time instead of a duration in the Length fields.

No need to close and re-open the Appointment Book when adding or removing a User In previous EXACT versions it was necessary to close and re-open the Appointment Book after adding a new User or removing a User. This is no longer necessary as the Appointment Book refreshes automatically.

Group by Family option in automated campaigns It is possible to market automated campaigns to Families, based on a Group by Family checkbox in the Campaign setup. Communications are directed at the Head of Family (HoF), and this person is identified based on age only (gender is ignored).

Custom Screens applied to treatment are editable until midnight Custom Screens for base charting have always been editable until the chart is saved. From v12.8 however, custom screens that are applied to treatment services can be edited after they have been charged, according to the same rules as Clinical Notes. Clinicians therefore have up until midnight of the day of treatment charging/invoicing to finalise their clinical notes and custom screens. The security setting associated with this functionality applies to both clinical notes and custom screens, and is checked by default:

Scheduler - Cancel All button for Missed Scheduled Events screen Historically a list of missed scheduled events had to be manually cancelled one-by-one in the Missed Scheduled Events screen. From v12.8 it is possible to click a button to cancel all missed scheduled events.

Optionally prevent Providers editing Fees on the patient chart In the Edit Service Item window and Add Service Item window, you can optionally tick a checkbox to lock the Service Item Fee against being edited on the patient chart. |
