Contact Permissions for direct marketing communications This feature relates to Marketing Manager. The previous Contact Restrictions functionality is now located in the Patient File Details tab, and is renamed Contact Permissions. New patients are automatically Opted-in to receiving practice direct marketing communications, but Practitioners can de-select their Opt-ins on specific request per patient. There is also a Contact Permissions Audit tab (visible to Administrator-level users only) EXACT tracks practitioner actions around the Contact Permissions in an audit trail.
On upgrade to EXACT v12.5 Existing patients without any preferences will be fully opted in (all options ticked). Existing patients with restrictions already set in earlier versions of EXACT will maintain those restrictions.

Contact Permissions prompt for Receptionists Contact Permissions is a prompted field (though not mandatory) that is controlled by a setting in the Mandatory Fields window. When the setting is checked (enabled), practitioners creating a New patient in the Patient File are prompted to obtain the patient's permissions for direct marketing, as illustrated at left. If these prompts are a nuisance your practice can disable them from the Mandatory Fields window.

EXACT allows a non-administrator user to add a new user in a different security group Under Configure > Add User / Provider there is a new security setting Set New Users Security Group. If this security item is checked, EXACT enables logged-in users to add a new user into a different security group to their own. If this security item is un-checked, the logged-in user is able to add a new user only to the security group to which that logged in user belongs to (as for pre v12.5 functionality). IMPORTANT: This functionality only applies if the Edit Security Group checkbox is ticked

Improved exclusion of patients from re-marketing With marketing campaigns, when practices use different service versus appointment codes, they often market again to patients who have already met the criteria for the campaign. To reduce this unnecessary marketing, from v12.5 EXACT checks patient invoicing to exclude customers who have had a campaign service invoiced during the campaign.
