Top Referral Sources by Receipts

This report is used to print a report listing the top paying patients referred to the practice or dentist, grouped according to the recorded Referral Source.

This report can be used to track how effective an advertising medium has been or to identify patients who are the most profitable by referring friends and family to the practice.

This can be an extremely useful report as you will be able to see very quickly if your advertising methods are being profitable enough to warrant keeping the advert running.

The resulting report can include the following:

• Referral Source
• Phone numbers for Referral Source
• Patients referred by each source (if ‘Include Details’ is ticked)
• Total amount receipted and invoiced for each patient (if include details is ticked otherwise just the total amount receipted and invoiced for the referral source will show).

To Run the 'Top Referral Sources By Receipts' Report

1. From the ‘Administration’ menu, click ‘Reports’ and select ‘Top Referral Sources By Receipts’:

   

2. Leaving the Provider(s) field empty will print a ‘Top Referral Sources By Receipts’ report for the entire practice; however an individual provider can be selected from the list by using the button.
3. Clicking the button will allow printing for a combination of Providers.
4. The ‘From’ and ‘To’ date fields are used to define the date range for the report.
5. The ‘No. to Find’ field will default to 20 however it can be changed to find the top ‘x’ number of Referral Sources, with all patients referred over that time.
6. The check box beside ‘Include Details’ defines the level of detail for the report. If this is ticked the report will show:
   • Patients referred by each source
   • Total amount receipted and invoiced to each patient.

   If the check box is not ticked the report will print a summary of the numbers referred and total transactions, for each Referral Source.

7. Click ‘Print’ to send the report to the printer, ‘Preview’ to preview on screen and then print from the ‘Preview’ screen, or ‘Cancel’ to return to the previous screen.

   The example below shows a ‘Top Referral Sources by Receipts’ report for the entire practice for a period of time, with the show detail option selected.
