NOTE ERUPT-EXFOL: Clicking ERUPT-EXFOL in base charting does not simply remove it. Clicking ERUPT-EXFOL twice on the same day now toggles whether the tooth is erupted or not.

Tooth Frame |

Tooth Specific |
This graphic is used when a service is applied to a tooth but you do not want to reflect a graphic on the odontogram, e.g. Periapical Radiographs or other RCT Treatment. It will note the code of the Service either above or below the tooth but will not change the graphical appearance of the tooth. This graphic type is ideal to use when entering notes for a particular tooth. |
Fissure Sealant |
Select Fissure Sealant for fissure sealants, which although charted on tooth surfaces are not normally counted in the DMF Count. |
Eruption |
It becomes pale indicating the tooth is unerupted. In the case of exfoliated deciduous teeth the tooth graphic will disappear. Hold the mouse pointer over a tooth that is either unerupted or exfoliated to display a tool tip to confirm: |
Up, Down, Left and Right Arrows (supernumerary or tooth movement) |
These graphics are mainly used to indicate tooth movement but can also be used to chart impactions, or for supernumerary teeth. Alternative option that makes it more obvious than the arrow icon: Turn on the deciduous teeth Remove all but the one that would represent the supernumerary tooth Perhaps add a BASE chart service called something like SUPERNUM Use the Character graphic to add text such as SU to the additional tooth (on the deciduous chart). The risk of using the deciduous chart is that someone might turn it off, causing the supernumerary tooth to disappear until the chart is turned back on again. |
Point |
Points can be used to indicate the position of a pin or post. |
None |
This graphic option is used to chart services that cannot or do not require a graphic. They are charted by double clicking on the Service, which is then added to the current treatment plan area but is not displayed on the Tooth. This graphic type is used for general services such as; exams, x-rays and scalings, that are not specific to a particular tooth. |
Character |
Use this to chart characters on a tooth. For example, rather than use a crown graphic, use the characters CR. Or use RF for a root filling. If you select the character graphic an additional Characters field becomes available within the Edit Service Item window. |
Drawing |
This graphic enables custom drawing on the tooth in the tooth chart, to be visible in the 3D tooth chart. Use it for services such as tooth jewellery. When you select the Drawing service and click a tooth a 3D representation of the tooth will appear with a colour and size selector. NOTE: This will not be visible on the initial tooth chart but will be visible on the 3D tooth chart. |
