Many changes have been made in EXACT to improve the handling of email and make it easier to use. The changes include (but are not limited to) the following features:
The email server now has automated startup and shutdown, and can run without the user logging into and out of Windows.
Emails can now be permanently deleted from the system (subject to appropriate user security).
Email can now be resent, either in its original form or edited, and with attachments added if required, using the "Forward" button.
EXACT email windows have been modified so that labels, error messages and instructions are consistent and easier to understand.
You can select multiple email addresses when sending an email message.
The email setup can now be completed without testing the internet connection. A log is made for reference of whether or not the connection was tested, and the success (or otherwise) of the test.
Emailing of patient data as an attachment is controlled by new patient confidentiality rules, so that a patient cannot inadvertently be sent another patient's personal data.
