Configuration affects how you use the Short Notice List:

The way in which a dental practice uses the Short Notice List is determined by a configuration option at Configure > Practice Settings > Utilisation Manager - Enable Short Notice List > Settings

If you have option A selected, you will see controls for adding restrictions at the point of adding an appointment to the Short Notice List (described further below).

If you have option B selected, a single tick in a checkbox adds the appointment to the Short Notice List, and you re-open the record from the Short Notice List tab in order to add appointment restrictions:

To specify patient appointment restrictions for SMS Gap Offers

1. Ask the patient if they want to be added to the Short Notice List.
2. If the answer is YES, Add to Short Notice List:

   

3. Ask if there are any periods during which they will be unable to attend available appointment gaps - if there are, click the + sign to expand the Dates that the patient cannot attend:

4. Select the +1 button to display the Prevent Short Notice offers screen, and then select from three different options.

   NOTE: Although you can only configure one option at a time (Single date, Date range, Same days each week), you can later re-open this screen to configure further options.

   

   

   

5. Select an option, configure it as indicated on the screen, and then click OK.
6. Repeat this procedure as many times as necessary to cover the patient no-booking periods. You will then have a list of Dates the patient cannot attend.
7. Optionally type a Note to explain the patient no-booking requirements and select a Note colour.
8. Select OK.
9. The Short Notice List record will appear in the Short Notice List tab:

   

To Delete appointment restrictions

1. Select restrictions by means of click or CTRL-click.
2. Select the Delete button.

To Edit or Add further appointment restrictions

If a patient revises the periods during which they cannot attend available appointment gaps you will need to modify the specified appointment restrictions.

1. Open the window from the Short Notice List tab.
2. To Add, select the +1 button, and proceed as described above.
3. To Edit, delete the incorrect appointment restrictions and then create new appointment restrictions.

To read Notes and to re-open appointment restrictions

In the Short Notice List tab, hover your mouse cursor or click the listed Short Notice List record:
