NOTE: Whatever type of installation you are running, you will need to read any on-screen messages that are displayed, and follow any instructions. If .Net is updated during the procedure, you may be instructed to reboot the computer at some stage.
(Initial installation is normally managed by Software of Excellence personnel)
Run Install EXACTServer.exe on the targeted server machine.
From each machine on which the practice wishes to run EXACT browse to \\SERVERNAME\EXACTResources\WorkstationInstaller and run Install EXACT Workstation.exe (including the server machine if the practice wants to run EXACT from there too).
Log into EXACT for the first time with one of the workstations (preferably on the server first if there is going to be an EXACT Workstation installed there), select the Workstation Update Configuration (in most cases the default is fine) and log in.
Log in to EXACT with each of the workstations selecting a Workstation Update Configuration each time.
On an Existing System
Run Install EXACT Server.exe on the targeted server machine.
At the end of the installation select to launch the Workstation Upgrade Monitor.
You should see those workstations set to update automatically being updated.
For every workstation that is set to update manually log into EXACT on that workstation, this will trigger the EXACT Workstation Installer to update the workstation.
For any new workstations browse to \\SERVERNAME\EXACTResources\WorkstationInstaller and run Install EXACT Workstation.exe.
To set a workstation to update automatically (next time), log in, and change the Workstation Update Configuration from the configure menu.
On this machine launch 'Install EXACT Server.exe' Log into each workstation on the system and log into EXACT; this will trigger the EXACT Workstation Installer to update the workstation.
Select the Workstation Update Configuration for the workstation.
